Lima’s CoP 20 Addressing Climate Change to Achieve Food Security

Food security is a major global concern that has been deeply impacted the agriculture sector by climate change. The extreme weather results in crop failures, loss of livestocks and​ increasing risk of new patterns of pests and diseases. People living on the coasts and floodplains and in mountains, dry lands and the Arctic are most at risk.

The UN Climate Change Conference kicked off with inspiring calls to climate action in Lima, Peru which will last from 01-12 December 2014. “Voices for Climate” is a space in which Peru, as host country for the 20th Conference of the Parties (CoP 20), welcomes domestic and foreign visitors.

The UN Climate Change Conference in Peru ( 1- 12 December) kicked off on Monday with inspiring calls to climate action.

In her opening address, the UN’s top climate change official Christiana Figueres called on delegates to take inspiration from Peru’s famous Nazca lines etched into the soil by Peru’s indigenous Nazca people many centuries ago.


Sectoral M&E Framework is established to track climate change response

MWorkshopIIEDPhnom Penh: 26 November 2014, a workshop on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Framework for Measuring Climate Change Response was initiated for Transport Sector with participants from Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), Climate Change Department (CCD) of Ministry of Environment (MoE), Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) and relevant NGOs with 32 people in total.


Regional workshop for preparation towards CoP 20

Pre-cop-20-bkkBangkok, 18-19 November 2014, five Cambodian officials of the General Secretariat of the National Council for Green Growth and the Climate Change Department the Ministry of Environment joined the regional workshop for preparing the 20th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (CoP 20). This event serves as a platform to provide opportunity for the 10 countries of ASEAN to discuss and share their views and expectations for COP 20, in particular on the development towards a new climate agreement commitment, Intended Nationally Determined Contributions, and Loss and Damage.
