GIGWindow3 01Aug2016Phnom Penh, 01st August 2016 – The Department of Climate Change (DCC), General Secretariat​​ of the National Council for Sustainable Development (GSSD) with support from Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) programme organized a training workshop on “Grant Implementation Guidelines” to 8 national institutions and Non-Governmental Organizations which successfully obtained grants from CCCA for implementation of climate change research and innovation projects and to projects with approved climate change action plans with a total of 41 participants (16 are female).

Two sectoral ministries improved and strengthened climate responsive budget and planning for 2017

MPWT workshop on CBA 28 29 Jul 2016Phnom Penh, 28-29 July 2016: General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development (GSSD) in cooperation with the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MoWRAM) and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) with support of Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) organized individual workshops to present the result of work done to improve integration of climate change in the investment programmes and budget submissions of the ministries of water resources and meteorology, and public works and transport.

Learning Event on Sharing Experiences on the Design and Implementation of CCCSP/CCAP Actions

Learning event 1Battambang – 30 June-01 July 2016, Department of Climate Change (DCC), General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development, with financial support of the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA), organized a “Learning Event on Sharing Experiences on the Design and Implementation of Cambodia Climate Change Strategic Plan (CCCSP)/Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP) Actions” at Battambang Province with participation of about 100 climate change practitioners and representatives, including the 21 CCCA-funded projects, NGOs and development partners.

New Release – Report on Second Study on Understanding Public Perception of Climate Change in Cambodia: Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices (KAP2)

KAP2 Report Cover EnThe Second Study on Understanding Public Perception of Climate Change in Cambodia: Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices (KAP2 Report) is produced to identify and evaluate changes in knowledge, attitudes and practices of the public relating to climate change to improve the national and sub-national response to climate change.

The information in the study derived from a nationally representative survey of 1000 Cambodians, 67 in-depth interviews with influenctial people from national and provincial government agencies, media and non-governmental organisations, and five case studies.

Over 150 young people receive training on climate change

IMG 6497 1Phnom Penh, 27 June 2016​- A training workshop on climate change for youths is organized under the presidency of H.E. Say Samal, the Minister of Environment as well as Chairperson of the National Council for the Sustainable Development (NCSD) with participation of over 150 youths who are from the Ministry of Environment, Union Youth Federations of Cambodia and relevant stakeholders. The training aims to improve as well as raise awareness of leaders, government officials, especially young students about climate change issues.
