Improving energy efficiency in Cambodia is a major factor that enables sustainable economic growth

Say Samal, Minister of Environment as well as chair of the National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD) considered that “Improving energy efficiency in Cambodia is a mayor factor that enables sustainable economic growth and low carbon emissions in Cambodia.

This was said during the inauguration of the conference “Improving Energy Efficiency in Cambodia: A Crucial Step towards Sustainable Growth” co-organized by the NCSD with support from Sweden embassy and Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) at Raffle Le Royal Hotel.


CCCA grant projects and CCTWG members shared good practices and identified scaling up approach for climate change response

IMG 0795 1Battambang Province– representatives of governments and NGOs implementing CCCA-funded projects on climate change adaptation and mitigation and Climate Change Technical Working Group (CCTWG) members participated in an “Experience Sharing Workshop on Climate Change Projects” from 20th to 21st June 2018 at Khemara Battambang Hotel to take stock of the achievements of CCCA grant projects and to identify any needs for support to maximize projects’ impacts in the final phase of implementation. The event was organized by Department of Climate Change (DCC), General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development (GSSD), with financial support of the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA), with participation from 95 people, including 28 women.

Young Leaders and Youth in Phnom Penh Capital City were trained on Climate Change

5R2A3392 1Phnom Penh - Young leaders and youth in Phnom Penh Capital City, total 134 people, including 30 women, were trained on climate change, 24 May 2018, at Cambodianna Hotel on cause and impacts of climate change, government response in both national and international response as well as how the measures to adapt to climate change and mitigate greenhouse gas. The training workshop was organized by Department of Climate Change (DCC) with support from Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) under the presidency of H.E. Tin Ponlok, Secretary General of the National Council for Sustainable Development, and H.E. Huot Hay, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh.
