Students in Svay Rieng University are trained on Climate Change

Trainig at SRUSvay Rieng Province, Students of Svay Rieng University together with the Provincial Department of Environment, total 137 people, including 76 women, are trained on climate change for 2 days, 6th – 7th November 2017, at the university on cause and impacts of climate change, government response in both national and international response as well as how the measures to adapt to climate change and mitigate greenhouse gas. The training workshop is organized by Department of Climate Change (DCC) with support from Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) under the presidency of H.E. Tin Ponlok, Secretary General of the National Council for Sustainable Development, and Mr. Loek Virak, vice rector.

Lecturers and Students in University of Heng Samrin Tbong Khmum are trained on Climate Change

Traing in Tbong Khmum 28Sep2017 1Tbong Khmum, 28 September 2017​–Department of Climate Change (DCC), General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD), with support from Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) organized a“Training Workshop on Climate Change” for lecturers and students in University of Heng Samrin Tbong Khmum, Tbong Khmum province, with participation of 152 people, including 68 women, to build capacity on the climate change terminology, cause and effect, impact, vulnerability at national and international levels in responding to climate change, and adaptation and mitigation options. The event is presided over by H.E. Pin Vannaro, the rector, and Dr. Heng Chanthoeun, deputy director of DCC.

Youth in Koh Kong Province Receives Training on Climate Change

Youth training in KKGKoh Kong Province, 15 August 2017​–Department of Climate Change (DCC), General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development (GSSD), with support from Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) organized aTraining Workshop on Climate Change for Youth to increase understanding on climate change. The event was presided over by H.E. Chuop Paris, National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD)’s Deputy Secretary General and H.E. Sun Dara, Deputy Provincial Governor of Koh Kong, and counted with the participation of 152 people, including 76 women.

CCTWG Inputs to National Climate Change Monitoring and Evaluation Work

CCTWG meeting SHV 20Jun2017Preah Sihanouk, 20-21 June 2017 – Department of Climate Change, General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD) with support from Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA), organized a two-day meeting to gather Climate Change Technical Team’s Inputs to National Climate Change Monitoring and Evaluation Work. During the meeting, CCTWG members and the respective M&E senior staff discussed the national monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework for climate change response and updated its institutional readiness indicators; they have also provided inputs to the proposal for Cambodia’s Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Combating Climate Change) and to the reporting tool to track the implementation of sectoral Climate Change Action Plans.
