Press Release: Launching a Call for Proposals on Research and Innovation Grants Responding to Climate Change

IMG 2822 1Phnom Penh, 15 September 2015, The General Secretariat for Sustainable Development (GSSD), hosted by the Ministry of Environment​ launched a Call for Proposals on Research and Innovation Grants in support of the national climate change priorities, with support from the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance programme (CCCA). Seven to ten grants are expected to be awarded, with an individual amount between USD 50,000 and USD 100,000. The workshop was attended by over 120 participants, from Government, academia and NGOs (Summary Q&A is inside).


A Training of Trainers links Climate Policy and Public Finance in Cambodia

ToT CC and Public policyPHNOM PENH, 25 August 2015: A Training of Trainers on Climate Policy and Public Finance was launched in Economics and Finance Institute (EFI) of the Ministry of Economics and Finance (MEF) today, focusing on the development impacts of climate change and how the climate change response can be integrated in Government planning and budgets. This is the first ever learning event jointly organized by EFI and UNITAR, in partnership with the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance and with financial support from the United Nations Development Programme and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

Glossary29Jul20151Preah Sihanouk – A number of climate change​ ​experts and technical officials, including Ministry of Environment officials​ from the General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD-GS), Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) programme and Strategic Progamme for Climate Resilience (SPCR), are meeting this week in Preah Sihanouk province, from the 29 to 31 July, to review and finalize the Climate Change Glossary.
