CCCA 7th PSB Meeting

IMG 7138 reshape rIn the morning of 13 February 2013, the Ministry of Environment organized the CCCA 7th Program Support Board (PSB) Meeting which was presided over by H.E Dr. Mok Mareth, Senior Minister, Minister of Environment and the Chairman of CCCA PSB. The meeting was participated by representatives from the CCCA development partners including EU, Sweden Embassy and UNDP. The main objectives of the meeting were to oversee the implementation of the CCCA program in 2012, to discuss on ways forward for 2013-2014 and to consult the future development of Cambodia Climate Change Financing Framework which is an effective mechanism in responding to climate change issues.

Launch of Knowledge and Information Platform

7thNovember, 2012, Phnom Penh Cambodia

0IMG 1845 rThe Climate Change Department of the Ministry of Environment launched an online knowledge and information platform together with the presentation of Education and Awareness Guidelines. On this occasion, the award ceremony of a climate change student painting competition was celebrated. Over 100 participants from government institutions, development partners, civil society organizations,academia, and media attended the event.

Climate Change Policy Development and Knowledge Management

cambodia greenThe Climate Change Policy Development and Knowledge Management or CCPDK, integrates Result 1 and Result 2 of the CCCA. Result 1 has so far been focused on the development of the national Climate Change Sector Strategy. Result 2 has produced the national Climate Change Education and Awareness Strategy.

The Climate Change Education and Awareness Strategy has been finalised. It places a strong emphasis on Knowledge and Information Structures (Knowledge and Information platform), Systems (methods and standard operating procedures) and Tools (education campaigns and materials development)

Launching Ceremony of Research Report

Launch of KAP SurveyCambodia May 10, 2011, Sunway Hotel, Phnom Penh, Cambodia     

Today, Climate Change Department of Ministry of Environment launched the first in-depth research on “Understanding Public Perceptions on Climate Change in Cambodia”. Approximately 130 representatives from National Climate Change Committee (NCCC), Development Partners, Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs), media and academia and private society participated.  The research was conducted by the BBC World Service Trust under commission of Ministry of Environment with the support from UNDP, Danida and Oxfam.
