Vision of Climate Change Response in Cambodia

IMG 3405 1Phnom Penh, 01 April 2015 - Climate Change has been taking into discussion in a parallel workshop on Environmental Context in Sustainable Development during the annual congress for environment achievement for 2014 and set up directions and priorities for 2015 organized by Ministry of Environment.

Under the parallel workshop, responding to climate change is focusing on the climate change general context and Cambodia’s participation, updated status on implementation of the Cambodia Climate Change Strategic Plan (CCCSP), update stutus of Climate Change Financing Framework and way forwards, community livelihood improvement in Cambodia’s coastal zone and participation of private sector and civil society in responding to climate change.

Key recommendations made by stakeholders’ representatives include:

  • The need of institutional arrangement, technical capacity strengthening, financial mobilization and research, aiming successfully implementation of CCCSP.
  • Speeding report develoment on Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC) to be submitted to UNFCCC secretariat before CoP 21 this year end.
