Experience Sharing Workshop for Climate Change Pilot Projects

IMG 6897 rrProject representatives from the 21 grant recipients under the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) met on 28-30 January 2013 at Golden Sea Hotel, in Sihanoukville, to take part in an Experience Sharing Workshop for climate change pilot projects. The main objective of the workshop was to identify key lessons learnt in the various sectors or thematic areas of climate change response in Cambodia.

CCCA Beneficiaries Feel Optimistic About New Agricultural Technology to Adapt to Climate Change

IMG 2654 rThe Royal University of Agriculture, in collaboration with University of Kamchaymear, which was supported by the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance, organized a farmer field day event at Pear Raing district, Prey Veng province on 9 January 2013. Approximately 260 participants attended the event including governmentofficials, local authorities, project beneficiaries and Cambodia Climate Change Alliance representatives, to stress the need to improve knowledge of farmers in farm adjustment practices that would help them better cope with risks related to climate change adaptation and increasefamily income through agricultural practices including choosing appropriate rice crops, behavior change on farming, and forage crops.


CCCA-TF Approves 11 New Pilot Projects to Help Develop National Capacities for Climate Change Response

The Cambodia Climate Change Alliance Trust Fund (CCCA-TF), under the Ministry of Environment Climate Change Department, has approved 11 new projects to pilot approaches to climate change adaptation in Cambodia, for a total amount of two million US dollars. The approved projects will be implemented from December 2012 to March 2014, and address key areas of the climate change response in Cambodia. Most projects are implemented through partnerships between concerned Government agencies and NGOs. Seven projects are Government-led and four are led by local or international NGOs:



Full Proposal DevelopmentOn the 5th of September 2012, the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance organised a workshop in Phnom Penh to support the development of the second call for proposals set up by the climate change multi-donor trust fund. Over 25 applicants from various development sectors attended the workshop and received  recommendations on the proposal development process.
