Excerpt from IIED: 'Between November 2011 and October 2012, government staff from various countries came together at a course facilitated by the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) to share and reflect on their countries’ experiences and needs around integrating Climate Change into development planning. As a follow-up to this initiative, the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance supported the Royal Government of Cambodia to develop a country paper on Cambodia’s experience to date with Climate Change mainstreaming. The paper reviews progress and challenges to date at three key levels or “building blocks”: enabling environment, policy and planning, and programmes and projects.'

On March 07, 2013, the Ministry of Information organized a Media Training on Climate Change under a close collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and with the support from the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance. The opening ceremony was attended by approximately 120 participants including representatives from Government institutions, Development Partners, Civil Society Organizations, Academia and media. It was presided over by H.E Dr. Mok Mareth, Senior Minister, Minister of Environment, H.E Khieu Kanharith, Minister of Information and Ms. Anne Hoglund, the Swedish Ambassador to Cambodia. The aim of the workshop is to raise climate change awareness among Cambodian journalists to deeply and precisely understand of climate change terminology, the concept of causes and effects, and key mechanisms in responding to this challenged issue.

On 14^th February 2013, the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Royal University of Agriculture (RUA) in installing climate change library corner in RUA’s main library. Number of climate change related books, publications, report and research materials were brought to the university. In this event, there were around 250 participants including students and faculty members attended.

On 8^th February 2013, Department of Climate Change of the Ministry of Environment under collaboration with Cambodia Climate Change Alliance and the NGO Forum organized a workshop to disseminate key outcomes of the 18^th Conference of Parties of the United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change (CoP18), which was conducted in Doha last December. The dissemination workshop was participated by around 100 key stakeholders from government institutions, development partners, Civil Society Organizations and media.

In the morning of 13 February 2013, the Ministry of Environment organized the CCCA 7^th Program Support Board (PSB) Meeting which was presided over by H.E Dr. Mok Mareth, Senior Minister, Minister of Environment and the Chairman of CCCA PSB. The meeting was participated by representatives from the CCCA development partners including EU, Sweden Embassy and UNDP. The main objectives of the meeting were to oversee the implementation of the CCCA program in 2012, to discuss on ways forward for 2013-2014 and to consult the future development of Cambodia Climate Change Financing Framework which is an effective mechanism in responding to climate change issues.
